Google: I'm extremely impressed by their refusal to admit something is impossible, and to work at it until it actually works. Throughout their history, they started with promising to "download the internet," and today vow to make renewable energy cheaper than coal and to link Japan and the USA with an underwater fiber optic cable. Daunting tasks, but they're taking it head-on.
Paul Newman's: Merging social conscience with high quality products is a winning combination.
Starbucks: Love them or hate them, you have to admit that they've done an astounding job at positioning themselves as a ubiquitous, high-quality, third-place-to-be brand. The café mentality, where you can go for a cup of coffee and a morning of reading and people-watching, is otherwise very absent in New England culture (perhaps throughout the US?) That Starbucks saw this niche and filled it, I nevertheless have to find impressive.
About Me:
I graduated last year with a Bachelor in International Business from the Grenoble Graduate School of Business in Grenoble, France. I have since been taking grad-level courses in PR and Environmental Policy at Boston University, and worked at Nickerson PR, Marketing & Events, Inc in the fall/winter of 2007. My main passions are social networking; national, international and transnational cultures; mediation; foreign languages; renewable energy; and sustainable living. (With as many passions as these, you can imagine that I never find myself in a boring moment!)
